Irish Guinness Soda Bread

Set the timer and grab a beer — it’s time to make one of our favorite dishes, Irish Guinness Soda Bread. Just don’t drink all of the beer before you’re done baking!

600 grams (2.5 cups) Wholemeal Flour
150 grams (2/3 cup) Plain Flour
75 grams (3/4 cup) Oatmeal
2 ½ teaspoons of Baking Soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 ½ tablespoons of Brown Sugar
40 grams (1/3 cup) Butter
480 milliliters (2 cups) Milk
200 milliliters (6 ¾ ounces) Black Treacle
½ pint Draught Guinness

Mix butter with all dry ingredients until the dough develops a consistency of bread crumbs. Add the milk, black treacle, and Guinness Draught. Mix until you have a wet dough. Bake in a greased bread tin for 40 to 45 minutes at 170c/325F in a preheated oven.
