Ahi Sandwich with Tossed Mixed Green Salad

If you are a tuna lover, try this fresh alternative to canned tuna sandwich. The delicate texture of fresh ahi, along with the sweet yet slightly tart taste of the mixed green salad, serves as the perfect combination.

5 oz. tuna (Preferably grade A)

1 ea. sesame roll

1 leaf of Bib or Boston lettuce

2 slices of tomato

1 thin slice of red onion

¼ fanned avocado

mixed green salad

 

Tuna marinade: 1 cup

1 cup soy sauce

½ cup rice vinegar

¼ cup orange juice

¼ bunch fresh cilantro

1 cup sugar

½ cup olive oil

½ tbl. wasabi

1 tbl. garlic

knob of ginger

*Combine all ingredients.

 

Wasabi crème fraice

2 ½ tbsp. wasabi

2 ½ tbsp. lime juice

2 ½ cup crème fraice

2 ½ tbsp. rice vinegar

salt and pepper to taste

*Combine all ingredients.

 

Red wine vinaigrette

1 shallot chopped

1 tbsp. Dijon mustard

2 tsp. honey

2 tsp. brown sugar

2 ¼ cups olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

*Start in a blender and combine shallots, Dijon mustard, honey, brown sugar, and vinegar. Blend until smooth. Slowly emulsify the oil into a slow blender. Salt and pepper to taste.
